It has been revealed that IGolf and IBowl for Apple’s iPhone have sold a phenomenal 2 million copies since they’re release on the App Store, which debuted on July 11th for iPhone and iPod Touch.

Thanks to that success, the game’s developer, SGN, has also released their newest game, iBaseball. Reports techcrunch.

All of the game’s from the publisher are free to download, and they use the accelerometer in your iPhone to control gameplay, allow you to make motions to throw or bat, for example, much like games for the Nintendo Wii. iBaseball includes applause and sound effects, vibration for when a hit is made and even supports left-handed gameplay. You can also challenge a friend to play, but only by taking turns. However direct head-to-head play will be coming soon as announced by CEO Shervin Pishevar, who also announced that more games from the developer are inevitable (that goes without saying).

The App Store has been a tremendous success so far. There are over 700 iPhone games and applications on the App Store and include some big names that are either already released or in development, including Super Monkey Ball Iphone (which has sold over 300,000 copies), Star Wars The Force Unleashed, Spore Origins, Need for Speed Undercover, Wolfenstein RPG and Doom RPG2, Real Soccer 2009, Bomberman, Peggle, Sonic the Hedgehog, Tetris, The Sims: DJ, The Sims: Bowling, The Sims: Pool, Bejeweled and many, many more.
