Mirror’s Edge 2 and 3 confirmed by EA DICE

Mirror's Edge 1 on PS3It’s no secret EA predicts Mirror’s Edge to sell 3 million copies. As a result sequels like Mirror’s Edge 2 and 3 are already being considered part of a Trilogy. This all before the first game’s release on November 11th on Xbox 360, PS3 and later PC. In a recent interview with the game’s developer, EA DICE, senior producer Owen O’Brien confirmed that the first-person action adventure Mirror’s Edge will be the first in a three-game series.

To quote: “The story we’re telling at the moment is kind of a trilogy, a three-story arc. I think there’s a lot of scope to take the story in different directions, or maybe tell someone else’s story. But certainly for these first couple games, it’s all about Faith. It’s all about her experience in the world.”

One of the primary features being planned for the sequel is a level editor. He said: “It’s something we’re probably going to look at for the sequel. It will be great, it really will be great. Creating a level editor is a skill in itself, and that’s a lot of work. And if we do it, we want to make the level editor as easy to use and intuitive as the game is. And that’s going to take us quite a lot of time. So that’s something we’re looking at for the sequel.”
