The developers of Hotel Dusk and Trace Memory/Another Code, Cing, are back with Again: Eye of Providence; another point-and-click adventure (although more action is promised this time) on the Nintendo DS. Tecmo will be publishing their latest gritty adventure in May 2009 in America and Japan.

First impressions reveal that in the game you play as FBI special agent Jonathan Weaver, who has a special power that allows him to see the past. What this does is show a crime scene in first-person book-screen-format in the present (on the touch screen) and the past (on the regular screen) at which point you must recognize when the past and present don’t match up and then investigate that area. You use the D-pad to move Jonathan around 3D locations in the game. By clicking on objects in the environment, you can trigger flashback sequences that’ll give you clues on how to proceeed.

See the past. Solve the mystery. Watch the English debut trailer, that shows the game’s live-action cutscenes and realistic characters, straight from the Tokyo Game Show 2008.

Last week Cing announced the sequel “Trace Memory 2: R, Gateway of Memory” for the Nintendo Wii, now another new DS game, it’s a good time to be a point-and-click adventure fan!
