Official The King of Fighters XII characters list

Out of the complete King of Fighters XII (KOF XII) cast, 16 out of 20 characters have been revealed so far, like Terry and Athena. We thought it was time to list The King of Fighters XII characters below that have been confirmed for the fighting game. It will first be coming to Japanese arcades in April 2009, and SNK Playmore confirmed that it will then be released in North America and Europe on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 in 2009.

When you click on each KOF 12 character’s name below, a window will pop up with a picture of him / her.

Confirmed characters:
1. Andy Bogard (returning from King of Fighters 2002)
2. Ash Crimson
3. Athena Asamiya (in original Psycho Soldier outfit)
4. Benimaru Nikaido (in King of Fighters ‘94 outfit)
5. Elisabeth Blanctorche
6. Goro Daimon (returning from King of Fighters 2003)
7. Iori Yagami (*1)
8. Kim Kaphwan
9. Kyo Kusanagi
10. Leona Heidern (returning from King of Fighters 2003)
11. Raiden (aka Big Bear)
12. Ralf Jones (*1)
13. Robert Garcia (returning from King of Fighters 2003)
14. Ryo Sakazaki (*1)
15. Shen Woo (*1)
16. Terry Bogard (in original Fatal Fury 2 outfit)

Rumored characters:
* Keith Wayne (from Power Instinct)

The entire game will have new hand drawn 2D sprites on detailed 2D backgrounds. All the sprites used in previous games for over 10 years will be dropped and will be replaced with these new high definition sprites. SNK Overseas Manager Yoshihito Koyama also revealed that the game is going to be “3D [effects] mixed with 2D,” with there being zero cell shading in the game.     Hm, still no word on K’ or Kula. This isn’t looking too good.

    im a huge fatal fury fan and kof and i think kof should always have fatal fury characters like joe higashi and mai and janet tizoc just the more fatal fury characters the better !!

    what good is ralf without clark + where is joe higashi and where is mai and mary the sweetness of the game. where is choi and chang. I thing they cut off too many good looking funny and cool charactors.
    my opinion is that, what good are graphics if the game has no juice.

    joe, kensou, chin, and clark are the final four in it. no mai(strange, but whatever)
