Get a Wii Points Card at Amazon UKToday Nintendo of Europe (and Australia) added new classic games to the popular Wii Shop Channel. The games went live at midnight CET. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at stores like Amazon UK (Card).

In addition to the three new games, the Nintendo Channel comes to Europe today. It adds the ability to download DS game demos and stream game trailers and video interviews directly onto your Wii.

We’ve included videos of the games so you can see if it’s for you. This week’s new games are:

Pokemon Puzzle League on N64Pokemon Puzzle League (Nintendo 64, 1-2 players, 1,000 Wii Points = €10 / £7.50 / AU$15): Get ready for a new kind of Pokémon battle where the power and speed of your brain are just as important as the strength of your Pokémon. Join Ash, Brock, Misty and many more characters from the Pokémon animated series as they gather in Puzzle Village to compete for the title of Pokémon Puzzle Master. Just match three or more blocks of the same color in any direction. Sounds simple, right? But the actual game play is surprisingly addictive and deep (chains and combos anyone?), especially when you’re facing off against a human opponent. Choose from six different modes offering a wide range of action, from story or puzzle modes to continuous play or timed play. If that’s not enough, take on the challenge in 3-D and get ready for more blocks than ever before. Featuring animated cut scenes combined with bright, fun graphics, there’s enough to satisfy any fan of Pokémon or puzzle games.

Samurai Shodown (priced 900 Wii Points = €9 / £6.75 / AU$13.50): A popular SNK fighting game from 1993 on the NEO GEO for 1-2 players.

Burning Fight (priced 900 Wii Points = €9 / £6.75 / AU$13.50): A SNK side-scrolling beat ‘em up game from 1991 (similar to Final Fight) on the NEO GEO for 1-2 players.
