It’s official, Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been delayed till February 10th, 2008 in the United States, a Sunday. As it was, the old Super Smash Bros. Brawl release date of December 3rd was a lucky one for US gamers, because it was only the US that was getting the game in 2007, everyone else in the world had to wait. But it wasn’t to be. For the record, Japan will now be getting the game before the US on January 24th, 2008.
So now everyone will have to wait until early 2008 to play the highly anticipated next game in the Super Smash Bros. series. Do you think this is good news or bad news?
Personally, while it always sucks to have to wait even longer, I am glad that they delayed it because hopefully this will give Nintendo more time to make the game AAA to the Nth degree. I am expecting there to be more playable characters than before (let’s hope they snag some really special ones, like Mega Man, Tails & Knuckles, and Pac-Man, in addition to the recently unveiled Sonic in Super Smash Bros. Brawl), a much improved and more robust online play (Super Smash Bros. Brawl has online play as previously confirmed) that will work well from the start (since they are having much longer to iron out all the kinks) and twice the amount of unlockables as we would have had previously. This will also let people focus on Nintendo’s other big release (Super Mario Galaxy) even more.
So this really is a win-win situation for everyone. But what are your thoughts?! Voice them in our comment box below! — via 1-Up

Why does it even matter? We gain wait time but almost double our game time.
It’s a win-win situation one can come but only from the other. Imagine it this way Brawl will win the game of the year award. We can wait if we get something desired.

um….
WTF would even make you CONSIDER having PAC-*** on a platform fighting game…
-__-
go die.
he’d be a retarded kirby that couldn’t jump and could only head-butt stuff and eat people. (and i doubt pac-man would survive eating samus, or any of the characters with a sword… i’d say the same for kirby, but atleast he has limbs.)
furthermore, THERE IS NO-ONE AS PSYCHED ABOUT THIS GAME AS I!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve been talking about the release of a third game with one of my best gaming buddies since Melee was released.
harder, better, faster, stronger is the train that is Nintendo pumping its resources into the production and shipment of ssbb!!! be patient!
it’s even more nerve-racking if you’ve seen the entire unveiled character roster on joystiq. I won’t say that my curiosity ruined it for me, (because it TOTALLY didn’t!!) but seeing (SORRY, SPOILER!!!) characters like RIDDLEY and KING K ROOL as playable characters, “tickles me in a way, that if Loretta tickled me that way, I’d say, ‘oh yeah, that’s it, that’s the spot.’” [family guy]
people, STOP bashing nintendo because of this dreadful release date crap that’s going on. and STOP trying to give your 2 cents on what MIGHT happen, or what they MIGHT have done to compensate for the bitter taste left by yet another ugly release date, 3 months later than what we all should have been blessed with! this game is going to be the be-all, end-all game for wii until the NEX NEX gen console (so help me god) series comes out! so don’t diss it till you’ve played it, and don’t talk about it if you’re just trying to ruin the excitement for all us good-ol’ nintendo anime-esque character-base fanboys!!!!
that is all.
